Job Title: Application Developer – DSS IT Development and Management Client: Department of Social Services (DSS) Interview Date: 1st Week of March Start Date: 1st Week of April
Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Application Developer to support IT Development and Management initiatives for the Department of Social Services (DSS). The selected candidate will be responsible for the full systems life cycle applications development, ensuring that critical DSS programs, including client eligibility, recertification systems, employment/work engagement services, and claims systems, operate at optimum service levels. The Application Developer will play a key role in system design, development, coding, testing, and documentation, ensuring seamless integration and high-performance applications.
Key Responsibilities:
System Design & Development:
Design and develop scalable, secure application solutions that meet DSS requirements.
Develop and maintain PL/SQL Packages, Stored Procedures, Functions, Triggers, and SQL statements in Oracle 12c.
Implement and optimize data structures, data manipulation, and database performance tuning.
Develop structured diagrams for database, security, network, and system architecture.
Create program code in .NET and Low Code Application Platform (LCAP) environment.
System Documentation & Compliance:
Develop system documentation, operational procedures, and security protocols.
Maintain and document database configurations, hardware systems, and network configurations.
Develop guidelines for upgrades, security enhancements, and system support procedures.
Testing & Maintenance:
Conduct system testing to validate that applications meet all functional requirements.
Ensure application performance by conducting SQL and PL/SQL code tuning/optimization.
Provide ongoing maintenance, troubleshooting, and enhancements as required.
Required Skills & Experience:
Minimum 4 years of experience in PL/SQL development, stored procedures, and database programming in Oracle 12c.
Minimum 4 years of experience in SQL performance tuning and optimization.
Minimum 4 years of experience in XML processing and object-oriented programming with large data objects.
Minimum 4 years of experience with data structures, database design, programming, testing, and implementation.
Minimum 4 years of experience in technical and user documentation, software conversion, and system integration.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in .NET development and Low Code Application Platforms (LCAP).
Familiarity with security protocols, compliance, and system performance best practices.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced development environment.
Work Location & Clearance:
On-site in New York, DSS location.
Candidates must possess active work authorization in the U.S.
