A global leader in air quality and fluid handling solutions for the energy, industrial, and niche markets, is expanding its team with the addition of an Application Engineer to its newly acquired business platform, a leading global supplier of membrane-based industrial water and wastewater treatment systems.
This position focuses on developing solutions and proposals for products and services, including components, standard systems, custom integrated systems, and field services for industrial water and wastewater treatment needs.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support to business development, sales teams, and customers, ensuring the execution of strategies to meet customer needs and create compelling proposals.
- Collaborate to achieve sales goals, bookings, and margin targets on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Interpret technical specifications and bid documents, preparing proposals and responses to customer comments to maximize opportunity capture.
- Develop cost-effective solutions by working with the Supply Chain.
- Prepare water mass balance calculations and system performance projections.
- Collaborate with Drafting to create Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), General Arrangements (GAs), Equipment Layouts, and other necessary drawings.
- Work with Purchasing and Production teams, as well as the external Supply Chain, to prepare detailed cost estimates and project pricing models.
- Develop comprehensive technical, commercial, and legal proposals, including process descriptions, work scopes, equipment lists, and performance guarantees to meet customer deadlines.
- Support project management, purchasing, production, engineering, and drafting teams post-award through to system production, installation, startup, commissioning, operations, performance testing, and warranty claims.
- Build and maintain strong industry relationships with End Users, Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPCs), and Engineering Consultants (ECs).
- Manage data and communicate activities and results to the global sales team effectively.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Process Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 4+ years of experience in application engineering and proposals for custom integrated industrial water & wastewater treatment systems, including Aeration, Clarification, Disinfection, Filtration (Media and Membrane), Water Softening, Ion Exchange, and treatment of Raw Water, Boiler Water, Cooling Water, Oily Water, Process Water, Produced Water, Ultrapure Water (UPW), and Wastewater.
- Experience in modeling solutions to meet End Customer’s Capital Expenditure (CapEx) and Operating Expenditure (OpEx) goals based on influent water analysis and effluent water quality requirements.
- Preferred industry experience in sectors such as Food & Beverage, Chemical/Petrochemical, Oil & Gas, Pharmaceutical, Power, Pulp & Paper, Manufacturing, Metals & Mining, Semiconductor, and Microelectronics.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Understanding of technical, commercial, and legal principles related to proposals, costing, pricing, and contract negotiations for business risk mitigation.
- Strong collaboration, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to prepare detailed technical documents and presentations.
- Proficiency in relevant engineering software and tools.
