    Immediate opening for an Applications/Technical Electrical Engineer to join and strengthen our North American engineering team, located in West Caldwell, NJ. Candidate must have extensive technical knowledge & experience in circuit protection applications.

    We are world leaders in manufacturing fuses for the global market from electronic fuses to high voltage AC and DC fuses. We are seeking a well-rounded engineer to support our engineering and field sales force. The candidate must be experienced in the electrical power industry, with a full understanding of circuit protection requirements and design. Experience with engineering project management processes preferred.

    The successful candidate must have 5-10 years’ experience in the circuit protection field, focusing on protection for products such as converters, inverters, drives, substations, capacitor filter & harmonic banks, traction AC & DC systems, transformer protection and MCCs, distribution switchgear, solar, wind, energy storage and EV’s (electric vehicles).

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering.

    • Minimum of 5-10 years’ experience in the Circuit Protection field required.

    • Technical experience in circuit protection technology and design.

    • Simulation: PSpice, MATLAB, ETAP – DC Arc Flash analysis – coordination study

    • Ability to interpret electro-technical drawings and designs.

    • Experience in power electronics and power systems, a must.

    • Hands-on individual solving circuit protection diagrams and offering full technical and commercial proposals to engineers and representatives.

    • Advanced technical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to simplify complex issues, and relate technical explanations back to the commercial value of the product.

    • Knowledge and ability to work with industry standards (UL, CSA, IEC, IEEE, ANSI, NEC, etc.), and willingness to keep current with developing technologies and evolving industry requirements.

    • Able to work in low to high voltage and high current engineering levels.

    • Dynamic personality with excellent interpersonal, supervisory, and presentation skills. Must have exceptional communication skills on multiple platforms, including verbal, written, face-to-face, and via telephone.

    • Attention to detail and diligence in all aspects of one’s work.

    • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with changing deadlines.

    • The ability to meet tight deadlines and follow projects through to completion.

    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

    • Proficient problem-solving skills

    • Must be willing to travel frequently within North America.

    • Bilingual (Spanish) a plus.

    MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Cultivate new accounts through networking, research, and call scheduling.

    • Develop, prepare, and present technical presentations to current and potential customers.

    • Develop and maintain superior relationships with customer base comprised of electrical OEM’s, design offices, outside representatives, and distribution network.

    • Lead the team to develop and utilize new technologies.

    • Set personnel development goals for the design engineers or others assigned with their assistance.

    • Perform yearly performance evaluations of the design engineers or others assigned.
