App Developer – APPWARD, Santa Clarita, CA

This is a unique opportunity to develop diverse set of customer applications on a novel platform, APPWARD™, created to empower users to build, utilize, and share powerful custom apps online. This position is a great opportunity to work with a small team of likeminded application developers to create powerful, quality solutions that will be used in a wide range of industries. The app development team will be designing, building, and launching new apps curated for small to medium sized businesses ranging from industries such as manufacturing and engineering, to accounting and finance and many respective lateral suppliers and partners. This role will require critical thinking skills as well as excellent communication as you partner and support customers and collaborate with the app development team.

The Appward™ platform, PATENT PENDING, is a new product and venture. We are thrilled for this new venture, to be developing the next generation low-code, cloud based, novel platform that will empower and enrich thousands of users to build, use, and share powerful applications with others. The platform simplifies and speeds up the creation of sophisticated apps in an easy and intuitive process. These apps will be tremendously useful for small businesses to run their operations and systems.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

• Design, build, test, and maintain applications within Appward™ in an effective manner. Take ownership of your apps and see how they are utilized in the market by our customers. ** This is NOT a software development gig and we do NOT require a Computer Science degree **
• You’ll be building solutions, using Appward™, with user interfaces for almost every app build, so an eye for detail and intuition for simplicity is key. We expect great UX, nothing less.
• Must be customer centric. Always starting with the customer and working backwards. This is critical for success in this position.
• You will be fully responsible for your projects, deadlines, and quality of the deliverables.
• Use critical and analytical thinking skills to solve problems in creative ways. Develop efficient methods for accomplishing tasks independently and also within a team setting.
• Use industry knowledge and research to improve and build your apps that will be useful for Appward customers. Your apps should take center space in our App Store.
• Be able to understand and follow expectations and specifications on product and delivery. Escalate concerns promptly and be ready with proposals to dismantle any roadblocks.
• Manage workload effectively as multiple app development projects are assigned and navigate through different development stages.
• Be a self-starter and resourceful to lead and make progress in assigned projects independently.
• Support user story development. Bounce ideas with your teammates and share to educate and enrich your colleagues.
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field with inclination towards Software or App development. Equivalent experience will also be considered such as building websites or apps using Wix, SquareSpace, Appian, WordPress, any CMS package, NetSuite, Salesforce Lightning, and others. Similarly, any equivalent experience in mobile app development or coding bootcamps will be considered.
• Basic knowledge of programming and a huge appetite to learn, research, share and grow.
• 2+ years of work experience in a professional setting.
• Knowledge of MS Office, or similar collaboration tools, to channel communication and work.
• Ability to speak and write in English fluently and idiomatically.
• Have a go-getter and can-do attitude.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience with VBA scripts or other general scripting languages.
• 5+ work experience in different industries.
