As part of our commitment to excellence, we are seeking an experienced and passionate seasonal Aquatics Director to oversee the operations of our swimming pool and campus pond.

    Position Overview: The Aquatics Director will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the club's aquatic facilities, including the pool and pond. This role involves leadership of the swim team, facility maintenance, safety management, program development, and ensuring high levels of customer service. The Aquatics Director will play a key role in delivering a safe, clean, and enjoyable environment, enhancing the member experience, and supporting the overall goals of the club.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Team Leadership: Lead, manage, and mentor a team of lifeguards, swim instructors, and swim team members. Provide ongoing training, coaching, and performance evaluations to ensure high standards of service and safety.

    Safety & Compliance: Develop, implement, and enforce safety protocols for both the pool and pond, ensuring adherence to local regulations, health standards, and risk management best practices.

    Facility Maintenance: Oversee the daily maintenance and repair of the pool, pond, and related equipment, ensuring a pristine and safe environment for all users.

    Scheduling & Programming: Create and manage a comprehensive schedule for pool activities, including lap swims, swim lessons, swim team practices, and recreational activities. Oversee all pond-related activities such as dock maintenance, canoeing and kayaking.

    Member Engagement: Design and implement programs to promote member participation, foster community engagement, and enhance the overall club experience. Manage and grow the club’s award-winning interclub swim team.

    Budget Management: Oversee the aquatic facilities' budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources for staffing, supplies, and facility upkeep.

    Customer Service: Provide exceptional service to all members and guests, promptly addressing concerns and ensuring a positive experience.

    Collaboration: Work closely with club leadership and members to plan events and initiatives that align with the club’s mission and goals.

    Industry Awareness: Stay informed on trends and best practices in the aquatics industry, introducing innovative ideas to continuously improve the pool and pond experience.

    Qualifications & Skills:

    Certification: Current lifeguard certification is required.

    Leadership: Proven ability to lead and motivate a team, with strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

    Knowledge: In-depth understanding of local and state pool regulations, health and safety standards, and risk management practices.

    Flexibility: Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, as required for pool activities and events.

    Customer-Focused: Strong commitment to providing exceptional service and creating a welcoming environment for all members and guests.

    Physical Requirements: Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing for extended periods, lifting up to 30 pounds, and actively participating in poolside activities.
