This position is at our ArcDeli location on Lyell Avenue. ArcDeli is a division of The Arc of Monroe. This is a program that trains individuals with intellectual and/or other developmental disabilities to learn skills in preparation to be gainfully employed in our community.
THIS POSITION IS M-F 6A-2:30P. NO EVENINGS OR WEEKENDS.
Job Duties to include:
- Prepares food for daily operations as directed.
- Cooks food on a daily basis as requested by customers utilizing ArcDeli equipment such as grill, pizza oven, fryer, toaster, et
- Utilizes ArcDeli point of sale system to accurately record all food orders and financial transactions and performed with 100% accuracy
- Cleans equipment as designated and maintains high sanitation standards in all areas of food preparation and storage. Dishwasher-cleaning of all pots, pans and dishes in a timely fashion as necessary
- Responsible for the performance/oversight of all cleaning responsibilities for the ArcDeli facility including cleaning and sanitizing kitchen and dining areas, bathrooms, floors, trash removal, etc
- Provide coaching, training and mentoring customized to meet the learning needs of each person to improve job skills and effectively complete job tasks/activities in accordance with goals
- Safely transport individuals to and from catering events and food deliveries, acting as an advocate on behalf of the individuals as needed within the community. Comply with vehicle safety, maintenance, transportation and cell phone use policies and adhere to IPOP needs

Required Skills
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION
- Valid NYS driver’s license required. Must have access to timely and reliable transportation to transport self and individual for deliveries and other operational needs as necessary.
- Must maintain current required certifications as designated by the agency including but not limited to: First Aid/CPR
- Ability to be Level II Food Serve Safe
OTHER SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE
- Ability to provide training/support both orally and in writing
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining effective levels of customer service
- Ability to stay calm and level-headed under pressure and still perform well
- Must demonstrate good judgment, sensitivity, objectivity and tact
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to foster teamwork between all team members via open communication, sharing of responsibilities, and a positive, constructive attitude.
- Understands and implements vocational program services for individuals with developmental disabilities
- Displays commitment to the future success of the individuals we serve, program areas, staff and agency
- Ability to complete the agency’s on-boarding training program.
- Basic computer literacy, including use of email, Microsoft office and internet
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, reach, push, pull, lift, climb and kneel
- Exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently.
- Regularly exposed to cooking hazards such as but not limited to heat and oil.
- Regularly exposed to dish detergent, cleaning solutions
WORKING CONDITIONS, POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
- Must be flexible and dependable; may be required to work overtime as necessary.
- May be occasionally exposed to individuals who have the potential to carry a communicable disease or blood borne pathogen
Required Experience
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school degree/GED and two years’ experience in related position, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
