    Wellness Center and SESC Program Coordinator

    Primary Purpose of Job

    The primary purpose of this position is to plan and implement educational, social, recreational, health-promoting, and inspirational programming, in-person and possibly online, for seniors at two south Philly locations.

    Essential Job Functions

    • Plan, organize, implement and evaluate activities for consumers in the Wellness Center, located at St. John Neumann Place II (2627 Mifflin St.) and at St. Edmond Senior Community Center (2130 S. 21st St.)

    • Facilitate participant meetings.

    • Meet service objectives related to Center programming at both locations.

    • Manage program budgets.

    • Prepare monthly program calendars, flyers and other outreach materials to promote the Wellness Center and SESC.

    • Participate in Outreach efforts to attract new consumers.

    • Work with other CHCS personnel (e.g., Social Service Care Managers, Senior Center Managers) to address the needs and interests of center participants, both individually and collectively.

    • Prepare and maintain CHCS reports and all related documentation in compliance with CHCS and other stakeholder standards and requirements.

    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

    Education

    • Minimum of an Associate's degree, or equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred.

    Experience/Abilities

    • Must have at least two (2) years of additional education or experience in a related field or position (e.g., gerontology, human/social services, event planning)

    • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office. Proficiency with data entry and social media use are recommended.

    • Ability to facilitate groups and to function as part of a team.

    • Strong written and oral communication skills, with solid attention to detail.

    • Ability to successfully deliver culturally responsive services.

    • Capacity to work both collaboratively and independently, with a high degree of tact, discretion and professionalism.

    Physical Requirements (with or without the aid of mechanical devices)

    • Sit, stand, bend, lift and move intermittently during work hours.

    • Must be able to lift, push, pull and move equipment, supplies, etc. up to 50 pounds.

    • Must be able to travel between work sites (3/4 mile) during the course of some workdays.
