    Part-Time Coordinator of Parish Music

    Saint Agnes Roman Catholic Church in Sellersville, PA seeks a Coordinator of Sacred Music (part-time) to begin in August 2024. This position at the parish should be a skilled organist with experience & competency as a choir director also.

    Qualifications :

    • Must be a practicing Christian, preferably Catholic, living the teachings of Jesus Christ.
    • 3 years proficiency as an organist and an understanding how music and the organ can both lead and animate the congregation.
    • Must possess a bachelor's degree in music with a demonstrated knowledge of Catholic Worship, and liturgical planning experience

    Primary Responsibilities :

    • Playing at 2 to 3 main weekend Masses as well as on Christmas, Holy Week, Easter, Feast Days, Confirmation, First Holy Communion, and other paraliturgical celebrations (e.g. 40 Hours & Penance services)
    • Rehearsing with and conducting multiple choirs (Adult, guitar, et cetera…)
    • Planning liturgical music for all major parish liturgies.
    • Recruiting and scheduling a roster of professional cantors
    • Responsibly managing the parish music budget
    • Playing parish funerals and weddings ( Compensation negotiated with pastor’s approval and knowledge )
    • Must keep the church's music library in compliance with all music copyright law.

    The parish does possess an organ and a piano, and the applicant is expected to be knowledgeable with other instruments used at Mass. The Coordinator of Sacred Music must possess a solid understanding of the Catholic Church's teachings and expectations regarding liturgy in parishes within the Archdiocese. The selected candidate must pass all background checks and complete diocesan Safe Environment training before they begin work.
