    About Buildings + Places:

    Our Buildings + Places practice includes architecture, interiors, building and system engineering, urbanism and planning (inclusive of landscape design), strategy +, economics, technology solutions, asset advisory, and cost and program management. This diverse team assists our clients from strategy through project realization, creating positive outcomes for those who occupy and use the buildings and environments we help to create. Our Colorado practice focuses on the Commercial/Corporate, Science and Technology, and Federal market sectors. We look to combine beauty, sustainability, resiliency, equity, and innovation in our projects and believe these values can be instilled in any project regardless of size or budget.

    Some of our recent projects include the renovation of the Denver Central Public Library, US Air Force Cadet Chapel restoration, support of the National Park Service Nationwide, Denver Water's new treatment plant, and regional work in many states.

    AECOM is seeking an Architect I to join the buildings & places team in the Denver, Colorado office.

    This position is expected to begin in May 2025.

    The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

    • Performing basic architectural/engineering calculations.
    • Preparing specifications, reports and related data tables.
    • Maintaining liaison with design and drafting groups.
    • Preparing, reviewing, and approving drawings as required.
    • Under the direction of the Supervising Architect, may perform technical assignments of moderate complexity within approved schedules and budgets.
    • May coordinate technical and administrative activities with employees in other disciplines and other departments participating on an assigned project.
    • May assist in the training and evaluation of assigned architectural and design/drafting personnel.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirement:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or a related discipline from an accredited university.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited institution with interest in pursuing architectural licensure.
    • Experience or coursework in sustainable design and green building practice.
    • Proficiency with Revit, Sketchup, Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, and Rhino.
    • Basic Understanding of building codes, zoning laws, and accessibility standards.
    • Experience preparing architectural plans, elevations, sections, details, and specifications.
    • Ideal candidate will have prior hands-on experience through internships or co-op programs.
    • Ability to effectively communicate ideas and collaborate verbally and graphically with team members and clients.
