    Carballo Architecture is seeking a design associate with 3-5 years of experience to join our fast-growing studio in Fell’s Point, Baltimore. Our work focuses on residential and commercial project types including renovations, additions, historic restoration, commercial adaptive reuse, base-building new construction and tenant fit-out work among many other project types in Maryland, DC, Virginia, Delaware, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

    Successful candidates should have a Bachelor's of Architecture, or B.S. in Architecture and be on track to complete their IDP hours and / or have started taking the ARE's.

    The design associate role includes design and documentation of residential and commercial projects of varying scopes, scales, and types while having direct communication with clients, consultants, as part of a collaborative architectural team. These include: residential, multi-family, adaptive reuse, restaurants, office fit outs, additions, renovation, historic preservation, new construction, tenant improvement, and planning.

    Role of Design Associate: Active participation in the design project team with coordination with outside Engineering Consultants, and ensure production of design documents and detailed/fully coordinated construction documents Monitor project status and initiate appropriate project progress Ensure project meets client needs and design intent Assist in managing client and internal design team/external sub-consultant communication and coordination Assist in design and planning meetings with in-house design staff, clients, consultants, community groups, code officials, permit-office staff, etc.

    Assist in oversight of project schedule, budget, scope/additional services, drawings, submittals, and other documents, as required. Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture (Minimum) Clear Communication Skills 3 - 5+ years experience Revit & CAD Experience
