SPIN Global is a Maryland-based public benefit corporation that exists to disrupt disasters from neighborhoods to nations. We are seeking qualified applicants to build a deployment-ready cadre, prepared to support response operations as opportunities arise. Applicants must possess a FEMA Entry on Duty (EOD).
Responsibilities
- Conduct evaluations of historic structures and sites, ensuring compliance with the Secretary of the Interior's Standards and Guidelines for Archeology and Historic Preservation.
- Prepare detailed reports on historic and cultural resource impacts, preservation strategies, and compliance findings.
- Collaborate with FEMA teams and other stakeholders to assess damage and develop recovery plans for historic properties.
- Utilize FEMA's Grants Portal to manage and maintain transparency in documentation and reporting.
- Provide technical guidance on the preservation of architectural and cultural resources during disaster recovery efforts.
- Conduct reviews in compliance with FEMA's Environmental and Historic Preservation (EHP) processes.
- Stay current with FEMA's policies, including IS-1000, IS-1001, IS-1002, and IS-253.a course content.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Historic Preservation, Architectural History, or a related field, with 5 years of relevant experience in a related field.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Secretary of the Interior's Standards and Guidelines for Archeology and Historic Preservation.
- Completion of FEMA courses preferred:
- IS-1000: Public Assistance Program and Eligibility
- IS-1001: The Public Assistance Delivery Model Orientation
- IS-1002: FEMA Grants Portal - Transparency at Every Step
- IS-253.a: Overview of FEMA's Environmental and Historic Preservation Review
- Strong understanding of architectural and cultural resource preservation practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare technical reports and present findings.
- Proficiency in relevant tools, including GIS and preservation databases.
- EOD Required.
