    Job Description

    AECOM is actively seeking a talented Architecture Designer for immediate employment in our Coral Gables or Ft. Lauderdale, FL office. This is a hybrid role. We have exciting opportunities for significant Sports Anchored Developments, Public Safety facilities and major Cruise Line projects. Applicants should have had exposure to Hospitality, Retail and Housing projects.

    AECOM’s Buildings + Places practice includes architecture, interiors, building engineering, workplace strategy, business transformation, asset advisory, economics and development planning, master planning, urban planning, and landscape architecture.     What will a day in this role look like.

    The responsibilities of the Architecture Designer will include but are not limited to:

    • Performing basic architectural/engineering calculations.
    • Preparing specifications, reports and related data tables.
    • Maintaining liaison with design and drafting groups.
    • Preparing, reviewing, and approving drawings as required.
    • Under the direction of the Supervising Architect, may independently perform advanced technical assignments of various complexities within approved schedules and budgets.
    • May coordinate technical and administrative activities with employees in other disciplines and other departments participating on an assigned project.
    • May assist in the training and evaluation of assigned architectural and design/drafting personnel.

    What are we looking for from you?

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering plus 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
    • Architecture experience covering aspects of building design including survey, design development, construction documents, construction administration or demonstrated equivalency of experience/education.
    • Experience with AutoCAD 2010 (or higher version).
    • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite including Microsoft Project.
    • Due to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is required.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience with large and complex projects/programs.
    • Experience with government agencies/projects.
    • Revit experience preferred.
    • Demonstrate enthusiasm, highly motivated and detail oriented.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Excellent technical and relationship building skills.
    • Must be able to work well with clients, staff and consultants.
    • Strong knowledge of American Disabilities Act/American Barriers Act.
    • Management experience on BIM projects highly desirable.
    • Understanding of pre-development efforts.
