AECOM is actively seeking a talented Architecture Designer for immediate employment in our Baltimore, MD office. We have exciting opportunities for significant Transportation projects. Applicants should have had exposure to heavy and light rail station and maintenance facility projects.

AECOM’s Buildings + Places practice includes architecture, interiors, building engineering, workplace strategy, business transformation, asset advisory, economics and development planning, master planning, urban planning, and landscape architecture. The responsibilities of the Architecture Designer will include but are not limited to:

• Performing basic architectural/engineering calculations.
• Preparing specifications, reports and related data tables.
• Maintaining liaison with design and drafting groups.
• Preparing, reviewing, and approving drawings as required.
• Under the direction of the Supervising Architect, may independently perform advanced technical assignments of various complexities within approved schedules and budgets.
• May coordinate technical and administrative activities with employees in other disciplines and other departments participating on an assigned project.
• May assist in the training and evaluation of assigned architectural and design/drafting personnel.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering or a related field and 4+ years in architecture experience covering aspects of building design including survey, design development, construction documents, construction administration or demonstrated equivalency of experience/education
• Must be proficient in AutoCAD 2010 (or higher version) and Autodesk Revit 2014 (or higher version)
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Microsoft Project

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in large and complex projects/programs
• Experience with government agencies/projects
• Demonstrate enthusiasm, highly motivated and detail oriented
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent technical and relationship building skills
• Must be able to work well with clients, staff and consultants
• Strong knowledge of American Disabilities Act/American Barriers Act and the International Building Code
• Management experience on BIM projects highly desirable
• Understanding of pre-development efforts
