JOB SUMMARY:
Exciting opportunity to join the investment team of a fast-growing Boston-based private equity impact investing firm. The Analyst (Associate level candidates welcome) is exposed to the investment team and deal underwriting process, portfolio management, investor relations, fundraising, and other core strategic and operational business units at the firm. As an employee, the candidate will rotate through these business functions and develop a broad range of skillsets applicable throughout the industry.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Candidates will support deal teams with screening new investment opportunities, building financial models and performing detailed financial and impact analyses, conducting market, competitor, and business due diligence, interfacing with third-party diligence advisors, assisting with deal structuring and execution, and managing portfolio companies. In addition to deal work, the program gives candidates experience working cross-functionally to support Arctaris operations, fundraising, and other strategic growth initiatives. Arctaris offers the opportunity to work closely with senior members of the firm and interact with portfolio company management teams and external advisors. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can work independently but also thrive as part of an experienced, lean team. Strong communication skills are imperative as Arctaris is a fast-growing, dynamic company with team members spread throughout different regions in the United States. This job is a hybrid, 2-3 days required in the office.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· STRONG FINANCIAL MODELING SKILLS
· Impact-driven – committed to achieving economic, social, and environmental impact outcomes through investment
· Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
· Management consulting skills a plus
· 2-5 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE in investment banking, private equity, transaction advisory or management consulting
· Honest and transparent communication

· Execution/action-oriented – willing and able to execute on projects with limited guidance

RESPONSIBILITIES:
INVESTMENT TEAM
· Develop detailed industry and business financial models, including economic forecasts, input assumptions and growth projections
· Support deal teams in the evaluation and advancement of investment opportunities through deal screening, structuring, due diligence, business analysis, valuation, negotiation, and execution stages
· Assist in drafting deal overviews, investment memorandums, term sheets, and impact theses
· Prepare comprehensive financial models, analyses, valuations, and return recommendations for investment targets
· Conduct detailed industry and sector analysis, including primary and secondary research
· Manage various third-party service providers (e.g. accountants, tax specialists, legal, environmental) during due diligence and as otherwise needed
PORTFOLIO MANAGEMENT
· Assist in the management of Arctaris investment portfolios and strategic growth projects for portfolio companies
· Financial models are an integral part of the investment process and used as the baseline plan for management of portfolio companies
· Actively participate in key portfolio company initiatives, including board meetings, budgetary planning, add-on opportunities, and oversight of portfolio company performance
IR, FUNDRAISING, MARKETING
· Help create and update marketing materials including pitch decks, one pagers and other documents
SPECIAL PROJECTS
· Assist with other special projects related to investment operations, legal/compliance, and other business functions as needed
COMPENSATION, LOCATION, BENEFITS:
· Salary range of $110 - $140K plus incentive compensation
· This is a hybrid position located in the Boston metro area (Wellesley, MA), and the candidate will initially be expected to work in the office 2-3 days per week, with the flexibility to work remotely for the remainder
