Job Summary:
The Role:
We are seeking a Senior Cloud Security Engineer to add to our dynamic team. In this role, you will be part of the engineering team responsible for designing, implementing, and securing Microsoft Cloud-based solutions based on Azure, Entra, M365, and more. Your primary responsibility is to work with customers to identify their cloud and cybersecurity needs, and rapidly iterate from concept, to requirements, to delivered solution. You fuse a keen sense of empathy for the customer’s challenges with your hands-on expertise with cloud and security solutions to delight the customer.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Meet with customers to understand and capture their current challenges and opportunities.
- Conceptualize and architect solutions to meet customer needs, accounting for functional requirements, scalability, performance, cost, resilience, and security needs.
- Collaborate with sales, developers, engineering, and customer team members to solve issues and provide sustainable solutions.
- Provide technical mentorship and thought leadership to other junior team members.
- Perform hands-on, iterative engineering of solutions, using DevOps, Agile, and CI/CD approaches.
- Develop and deliver documentation to the customer of solutions that your team has built.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- 5+ years’ experience in software industry experience related to technology.
- Experience building Azure based solutions in enterprise and production environments.
- Secure and resilient system design
- IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS service composition
- Popular Azure services and components such as KeyVault, LogicApps, NSGs, Event Hub, ExpressRoute, Defender, Kubernetes Sentinel, Log Analytics, SQL Database, Blob Storage, Functions, and the like
- DevOps and DevSecOps focus with experience building and deploying infrastructure with automation like Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Terraform, etc. with security features and secure system design built in.
- Production experience with automation and scripting using PowerShell; work with Terraform a plus.
- Understanding of modern threat environments and attack types, as well as secure system design; hands-on experience with any of the following are a plus:
- Security incident response, vulnerability assessment, or penetration testing
- Threat modeling, threat analysis, and ATT&CK
- Strong verbal and presentation skills.
- Writing and editing of technical/functional requirements, design specs, and design documents
Optional Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, or related field a plus.
- Sound understanding of network protocols/services and network infrastructures.
- Strong analytical skills, critical thinking skills and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with Agile Scrum Processes.
- Capability to independently complete project tasks with minimal supervision.
- Foundational experience in algorithms and design.
- Self-motivated, highly organized and detail oriented with the ability to work independently, prioritize and multi-task.
- Experience with Entra ID Management, including:
- User account management
- Conditional access policies
- Privileged identity management
- Just in time/just enough access (JIT/JEA) access and rights management
- Entra ID Connect and Hybrid Environment Management
- Domain-related certifications are a plus, such as from Microsoft, SANS, Offensive Security, ISC2, etc.
- Ability to travel to customer sites 0-25% of the time is highly desirable.
