  • Responsibilities

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Responsible for driving employee productivity, operational efficiency, employee engagement, and customer service levels.
    • Communicates and promotes safety, compliance, and environmental requirements in accordance with all regulatory requirements and company standards.
    • Ensures that materials mined are processed in accordance with company specifications and quality standards.
    • Works directly with Safety and Environmental to ensure plant performance aligns with regulatory and company expectations for compliance and performance.
    • Works with Procurement to ensure operational spending is aligned with company expectations
    • Regularly communicates via phone, email or in person with customers, community members, and business stakeholders to ensure service expectations are met and exceeded.
    • Ensures proper administration / interpretation of Collective Bargaining Agreements by having a clear understanding of the collective agreements and promoting positive working conditions, and a team spirit within the plant and Union officials
    • Provides excellent customer service to internal and external customers by promptly addressing operational issues, questions, or concerns.
    • Works with sales to address customer relations and customer service requirements to ensure operations meet or exceed customer expectations.
    • Supervises employees, monitors activities and satisfies reporting requirements in accordance with all regulatory requirements and company policies.
    • Responds to and maintains positive employer-employee relationships that contribute to satisfactory productivity, motivation and morale.
    • Motivates employees and builds effective teams while ensuring a culture built with honesty, integrity, and compliance with company requirements.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Bachelor's degree or 5+ years of equivalent work experience; a degree in engineering, operations management or project management preferred
    • 3+ years of direct supervisory experience in a unionized environment
    • 3+ years of hard rock mining experience
    • Working knowledge of CFR Part 46 (MSHA) and practical experience with all aspects of unionized aggregates operations
    • Required Training/Certifications: MSHA Part 46, First AID / CPR / AED (preferred)
    • Licenses Required: Valid driver’s license
    • Required Computer and Software Skills: Proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office Suite and SAP
    • Travel Requirements: Travel required between multiple plant operations
