A non-profit organization is seeking an Accountant to support the finance team through a variety of accounting functions. Work hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. ****

Job Responsibilities:

• Prepare monthly billing statements and aged receivable report, monitor and verify accuracy of customer accounts, identify delinquent balances, and work with management for collection
• Review and track financial aid for compliance with company policies, participate in month-end and annual accounting closing process, and the transition to a new accounting software
• Track project costs and related reports for analysis, assist in the budgeting process at year-end, and prepare journal entries and account reconciliations
• Handle out-going mail, track postage and office equipment
• Provide other duties as needed

Qualifications:

• Must have an Associate’s degree in Accounting or equivalent field
• Must have 1 to 2 years Accounting experience with a working knowledge of GAAP
• Must be proficient using Microsoft Office, have accurate data entry skills, and the ability to adapt to various software packages
• Must have excellent organizational and communication skills
• Must have good problem-solving and time management skills
• Must have the ability to pay a high attention to detail
