    Job Description

    Arizona Behavior and Autism LLC is seeking a qualified unique and energetic individual for the position for Special Education Teacher for children with autism spectrum disorder for a small private school located on a peaceful horse ranch for the 2023-2024 school year with the option to begin this school year. Students attend 4 days a week, with teacher preparation time an additional one-half day. Mission To educate children with ASD which include learning differences, attention deficits, and developmental delays along with communication difficulties, to achieve their greatest potential and assist them in developing individual special gifts and talents. Essential Responsibilities * · Teaching a small group of students and individuals inside and outside of the classroom * · Preparing and executing lessons and resources * · Assessing the students' work done in class * · Developing and adapting individualized teaching methods that are suitable for each of their students. * · Using special tools and equipment provided to stimulate an interesting learning environment. * · Using special skills to teach children and implement the behavior change principles of Applied Behavior Analysis * · Maintain an environment of respect, dignity, organization, and appropriate performance expectations. * · Plan and maintain classroom curriculum. * · Deliver curriculum with fidelity. * · Actively monitor students for growth and development * · Attend to children's social and emotional needs. * · Maintain data and educational records. * · Plan, implement and post weekly written lesson plan of daily activities and academic areas. * · Set up and maintain an appropriate classroom environment (this includes ensuring a clean and safe classroom) * · Provide written guidelines for substitutes. * · Give guidance and direction to teacher assistants and volunteers. * · Updating parents on their kids' progress and giving recommendations to promote a better learning environment * · Implement behavior plans as developed by the licensed BCBA. * · Attend scheduled staff training and implement new skills. Minimum requirements (Please do not apply if you do not meet ALL minimum requirements): * · Bachelor's Degree * · 185 day teaching contract (2 days before school begins 2 days after it ends) * · K-8 teaching certificate (or deemed Highly Qualified by the state of Arizona) * · Valid Fingerprint Clearance Card * · Strong communication skills * · Self-directed personality traits * · Courteous and professional demeanor and dress * · Able to work 8:15 a.m. - 2:45 p.m. Monday through Friday * · Ability to operate computers, classroom technology, and computer software (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, copiers, and cell phone functions such as text, email, etc.) Qualifications: * · Graduate from a Teaching program * · Current license as a SPED Teacher in AZ * · Bachelor's Degree * K-8 teaching certificate (or deemed Highly Qualified by the state of Arizona)? (REQUIRED Skills and expectations * · The teaching assistant should be able to manage the different behaviors that each child exhibits at every given time (training is provided) * · He/she should have interest in children's education * · He/she must possess good and effective communication skills to be able to determine the needs of each child and help him/her when necessary. The need to be attentive to and be patient with children at all times is also important. * · Good verbal and numerical skills are also important * · Excellent interpersonal skills to be able to freely relate with people from diverse background * · The ability to be sensitive to the needs of children and to be firm when necessary * · Ability to work effectively as part of a team * · Learn and implement the behavior change techniques of Applied Behavior Analysis (on the job training) * · Adopt and follow all school policies and to be aware of Equal Opportunities * and Health and Safety legislation * · Participate in training to improve skills and knowledge relevant to the needs * of the post. * · Manage and support students with challenging behavior, this includes the appropriate use of physical intervention in line with School policy. * · You will be jointly responsible for the safeguarding of children in our care, it is a requirement of this role that you adhere to all relevant * · Safeguarding policies and procedures. * · Undertake any other duties within the competency of the post as determined by the Head teacher/administrator Company Description We are a small company that offers a very specialized therapy service to our community families implementing the use of ABA therapy, horses and chickens.
