    Job Summary

    The Expressive Arts Therapist is responsible for clinical services provided to children, adolescents and/or adults, as assigned. The clinician is held accountable for all related clinical, administrative, and Quality and Compliance responsibilities.

    Essential Responsibilities and Metrics

    • Provides Art Therapy, Counseling and Crisis Intervention to Clients and their Families
    • Provides high-quality service and maintains direct service hours per month of 60% for advanced clinicians and 56% for others
    • Creates IMCANS (IATP) Assessment
    • Completes IATP within 30 days of initial meeting with client, modifies and reviews as needed
    • Updates and records IATP in CIS as needed and ensures updates are completed prior to six months due date
    • Case management
    • Client centered consultation with community providers
    • Attendance and participation at clinical presentations
    • Use of supervision or consultation when required or needed
    • Provide clinical supervision to student intern
    • Provide timely completion of Level of Care Utilization System (LOCUS) (for adults)
    • Provide timely completion of Columbia and Ohio Scales (for children)
    • Compliance with all Policy and Procedures
    • Maintain productivity goals as determined by supervisor
    • Be responsive to the business office regarding client fees/payments
    • Participate in Accreditation and Certification processes as directed
    • Participate in Committee Work as directed
    • Participate in Strategic Planning as appropriate
    • Participate in Community Related Services as appropriate
    • Represent the agency with integrity

    Art Therapy Responsibilities

    • Assess client needs, using drawing, music, painting, sculpting, theater, movement, or other expressive processes-based interventions.
    • Conduct creative or expressive art therapy sessions providing guided self-expression experiences to help participants feel an increased sense of wellbeing, connection, improved self-esteem, and empathy for others.
    • Establish therapeutic goals or objectives for creative or expressive art therapy sessions in consultation with the Clinical Supervisor or Director.
    • Request purchase or gather materials for in-studio for sessions.
    • If skilled, conduct workshops on techniques of using art in therapeutic relationships in Teaching Artists, interns, volunteers and staff or partner organizations.

    Qualifications

    • Minimum requirement of a Master's Degree in Art Therapy, Social Work, Counseling, Psychology
    • 1 year of post Master's degree Mental Health experience required
    • Three professional references that reflect ability to perform clinical work
    • Demonstrated awareness of multiple cultures and cultural impact on the delivery of service is a must.
