Artisan Custom Closets is currently hiring for a Full-Time Purchasing Manager in Marietta, Georgia. Previous work in the closet or cabinet industry is preferred, but not required. We are a fast-growing, local Custom Closet Manufacturer. Candidate will work from our Marietta office - the role is in-person, with no telework component. Hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:30am – 5pm, and Friday 8:30am – 4:30pm, with no required overtime. JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: •Ensure that all jobs are ordered accurately, cost effectively, in a timely manner, and in accordance with design specification and quality control standards •Plan, schedule and review purchasing staff workload to ensure that optimum and on-time delivery targets are achieved •Work closely with the Production Manager to ensure that products are received on time •Maintain compliance with budgetary requirements within the department •Monitor inventory to determine what products are on hand, and what products need to be ordered •Develop purchasing strategies to ensure a consistent flow of inventory •Research a variety of vendors to find the products we need for the best prices •Determine the quantity and timing of deliveries •Negotiate vendor contracts •Check deliveries for accuracy and quality •Establish standard operating procedures for the purchasing department, and regularly monitor the effectiveness of said procedures •Assume other miscellaneous responsibilities from time to time as directed QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE: •Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, finance, or a related field •CPPO, Certified Purchasing Manager, Certified Contract Negotiator, CPPB, or other advanced certification in procurement or contract administration preferred •Familiarity with sourcing and vendor management •Proficient with vendor management software •Excellent communication and organizational skills. •5+ years' experience in the procurement of materials and supplies •5+ years' experience in management •Affiliation with successful manufacturing companies (cabinets or closets preferred) •Sound administrative skills, well-developed management skills - principles & people •Experience working in a non-union environment •Proven ability to recruit, train and motivate personnel in order to balance staffing strength with profitability and growth •Strong analytical, numerical, and reasoning abilities •Participative management type—advocates team concept •Well-developed interpersonal skills •Ability to establish credibility and be decisive—but able to recognize and support the organization's preferences and priorities •Satisfactory communication skills, written and verbal •Results oriented with the ability to balance other business considerations The position will be classified as an “Employee,” with all applicable taxes deducted.
