    Job Summary

    Chesterton Academy of The Divine Family, a joyfully Catholic, classical high school in the Chesterton Schools Network, is seeking a talented and mission-driven Arts and Drama Teacher for the 2025–2026 academic year.

    This unique position invites a passionate educator and artist to cultivate creativity, discipline, and beauty in students through visual arts and stage performance, while forming them in virtue and joyful discipleship. The ideal candidate embraces the classical vision of education and understands the transformative role of the fine arts in the moral and spiritual development of young people.

    Responsibilities

    Teach studio art and art history for grades 9–12, progressing from drawing and calligraphy to oil painting and watercolors

    Direct annual full-length drama productions (Comedy, Drama, and Shakespeare) as part of the integrated humanities curriculum

    Guide students in stage performance, public speaking, stagecraft, and ensemble collaboration

    Integrate Catholic principles and beauty into all artistic instruction

    Foster a classroom environment that celebrates wonder, order, and student dignity

    Participate actively in the school’s House system, daily Mass, and student formation activities

    Collaborate with faculty to create interdisciplinary connections between arts, literature, and theology

    Mentor students to recognize their gifts and use them for the glory of God and the service of others

    Qualifications

    Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Fine Arts, Theatre, Art Education, or related field

    Experience directing high school theater productions and teaching studio art

    3–5 years of high school teaching experience preferred

    Strong classroom management and organizational skills

    Practicing Roman Catholic willing to take the Oath of Fidelity to the Magisterium

    Familiarity with or passion for Catholic classical education

    A heart for evangelization, formation, and joyful service to students and families
