    Job description: We are looking for a passionate and highly motivated Mandarin instructor to create curriculum for another teacher to deliver. This is for an elementary student at a beginner level that is focusing on language and culture. The ideal candidate will provide curriculum on a weekly basis in the form of assignments, assessments, and projects, and will then report progress based on the work submitted. Must be organized, self-motivated, and have a great understanding of Gdrive.

    Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate with team to develop effective teaching strategies
    • Curate engaging, student-led curriculum
    • Foster a positive and engaging learning environment
    • Create lesson plans and instructional materials tailored to student's needs
    • Integrate hands-on, project-based learning activities to make topics come to life
    • Employ a variety of educational techniques
    • Utilize informal and formal assessments to monitor and assess student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly
    • Provide weekly updates on student progress
    • Conduct periodic assessments to monitor student progress
    • Help student build their social and emotional competencies and self-esteem and confidence
    • Collaborate with other educators/team members

    Skills:

    • Strong knowledge of Mandarin language and culture
    • Excellent communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of individual student
    • Knowledge of best practices, and technology tools
    • Patience and understanding when working with students who may be struggling with the material
    • Strong organizational skills

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s Degree
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience creating curriculum as a classroom teacher or private Mandarin tutor
    • Teaching Credential (not required)
    • Must be based in California
