    Job description: Are you a teacher who has a passion for math, science, engineering, coding, and/or robotics? If so, we have a fantastic position available. We are looking for outstanding (and qualified) educators to work one-on-one with a 3rd grade student, focusing on elementary/middle school curriculum. This will be either an after school or weekend position, and coding and robotics experience is a huge plus! Our ideal candidates are available to commute to Venice Beach for in-person instruction.

    We are Aspen Learning Lab: Our goal at Aspen Learning Lab is to inspire students to love learning through hands-on activities, curiosity, and positive reinforcement while meeting social, emotional, and academic milestones. We are looking for creative teachers who have the ability to problem solve and think critically!

    We are looking for educators who:

    • Demonstrate a deep knowledge for math, coding, robotics, and computer science curriculum and content
    • Curate and facilitate curriculum that meets California Common Core
    • Understand age appropriate, developmental milestones
    • Are passionate about empowering students to grow both emotionally and academically
    • Love learning and want to share that knowledge with students
    • Understand child development and differentiating instruction
    • Utilize best practices and methods to connect and develop a relationship with students and families
    • Thrive working as a team
    • Are comfortable leading with ideas, lesson planning, and curriculum

    Responsibilities:

    • Working as a team, curate age and level appropriate curriculum with lesson plans
    • Integrate hands-on, project-based learning activities to make topics come to life
    • Employ a variety of educational techniques
    • Utilize informal and formal assessments to monitor student progress
    • Help student build their social and emotional competencies and self-esteem and confidence
    • Collaborate with other educators/team members

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s Degree
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a classroom teacher or tutor
    • Teaching Credential (not required for all positions)
    • Must be based in the Los Angeles area
