    Assistant Baker & Preparation – Manhattan Bagel

    Job Summary: The Assistant Baker & Preparation team member at Manhattan Bagel plays a vital role in supporting the daily production of fresh bagels and baked goods, as well as preparing ingredients and maintaining kitchen operations. This position involves assisting with baking, food prep, and ensuring a clean and organized work environment.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Assist in the preparation and baking of bagels, breads, and other baked goods according to Manhattan Bagel’s recipes and standards.

    Operate and maintain bakery equipment, including ovens, and proofers.

    Monitor baking times and temperatures to ensure quality and consistency.

    Assist with food preparation tasks, including slicing, portioning, and assembling ingredients for bagels, sandwiches, and spreads.

    Ensure all ingredients are properly stocked, rotated, and stored following food safety guidelines.

    Maintain a clean and sanitary work area, including washing dishes, wiping surfaces, and following health and safety protocols.

    Support bakers and kitchen staff in daily operations, including opening and closing duties.

    Follow company policies and procedures to ensure efficient and safe operations.

    Qualifications:

    Prior experience in a bakery, food preparation, or kitchen setting is preferred but not required.

    Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

    Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes and food safety guidelines.

    Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and multitask.

    Good teamwork, communication skills, and a positive attitude.

    Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

    Work Environment:

    Fast-paced, hands-on bakery and kitchen setting.

    Early morning shifts required.

    Exposure to heat from ovens and baking equipment.
