Job Title: Assistant Banquet Captain Company: The Goodstone Inn & Restaurant Reports To: F&B Manager

The Assistant Banquet Captain supervises the staff, operations, and guests of banquet experiences at Goodstone Inn and Restaurant.
Responsibilities and Duties
Always provide the highest quality of service to the guests, anticipate guest needs, and exceed their expectations.
Coordinates with the event host on all aspects of the banquet function.
Oversee all aspects of assigned banquet function activities, ensuring that food counters are properly set and ready for execution at the appointed time.
Supervises and trains staff to set up and break down assigned banquet rooms according to contract and managers' instructions.
Ability to respond quickly and accurately to guest requests.
Display good customer relation skills and take the initiative to greet guests in a friendly manner.
Plan the event course and orchestrate its completion promptly, quietly, and courteously.
Discuss any last-minute changes with the banquet team.
Ensure all guest requirements are set and ready 30 minutes before the event starts.
Coordinate’s function details with a banquet, conference planning, and kitchen staff.
Maintain constant contact with the Executive Chef to ensure decisions between food production and food service.
Observe guests to fulfill additional requests and determine when the next course should begin or when the meal is completed.
Guide, direct, and motivate banquet staff; provide guidance and direction to subordinates, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance.
Qualifications and Skills
A minimum of 1+ years of a lead role with Events
Great verbal/communication skills.
Basic knowledge of AV
Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English
Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written
Must be able to multi-task, prioritize, and work in an effective and efficient manner
Must be able to work with a sense of urgency while remaining calm, pleasant, and oriented
Must be at least 18 years old
Excellent attention to detail is a must
