The World Equestrian Center-Ocala is currently seeking at this time, Assistant Chief Engineer to join our team.
The Assistant Chief Engineer assists department head in managing department, preventative maintenance and asset protection. Accountable for maintaining the building and grounds with particular attention towards safety, security and asset protection. Assigns, tracks and follows up on status of work assigned to staff and contractors. Helps to increase guest and employee satisfaction through effective communications and training.
Essential Functions:
- Assist the Chief Engineer with interviewing, selecting, training, scheduling, coaching, and supporting associates, ensuring their performance aligns with established hotel standards and WEC core values.
- Support the Chief Engineer with daily supervision of the engineering department and related areas.
- Operate Building Automation Systems, diagnose deficiencies, and implement appropriate corrective actions.
- Assist in effective planning, scheduling, and evaluating preventive maintenance programs.
- Efficiently utilize and maintain CMMS software for preventive maintenance (PM), corrective maintenance (CM), and asset management.
- Establish and maintain open, collaborative relationships with team members.
- Maintain all safety equipment, conduct regular inspections, and organize safety drills.
- Follow established safety protocols and comply with OSHA standards.
- Ensure regular and ongoing communication with team members to promote awareness of business objectives, communicate expectations, and recognize performance.
- Provide emergency response services on a 24/7 basis.
- Assist with ordering and maintaining adequate supplies, equipment, and uniforms.
- Demonstrate the ability to multitask and efficiently use various communication tools daily, including mobile devices, email, and radio. Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office systems is required.
- Create and revise standard operating procedures (SOPs) as necessary.
- Exhibit positive leadership qualities to effectively manage and guide a team focused on quality, productivity, and guest satisfaction.
- Be available to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications, Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities:
- High School Diploma.
- Associate degree or Technical School diploma preferred.
- Three years’ experience in a similar position.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Superior leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work well in high volume environment.
