    Assistant Construction Superintendent - Civil and Commercial Construction - Base Salary to 85k/year - Oil City, PA

    • Our client is a fifth-generation, family-owned commercial construction company. Consistently ranking on the Top 400 Contractors list by Engineering News Record, their experience spans throughout the Mid-Atlantic Region.
    • The Assistant Construction Superintendent fulfills their responsibility through daily attentive management and oversight of work as assigned by the General Superintendent. The Assistant Construction Superintendent will review project plans, specifications, and bids with estimating and assist in developing the construction schedule in conjunction with the Project Superintendent and Project Manager. The Assistant Construction Superintendent will also be responsible for managing subcontractors and construction site organization while maintaining daily and weekly scheduling of materials, equipment, and subcontractors.

    Responsibilities:

    • Review shop drawings to coordinate the work of all trades and avoid re-work and productivity delays.
    • Participate in contractor de-scope meetings and take accurate notes of promises and reviews at pre-installation meetings.
    • Review project schedule and updates daily, noting actual start and finish times of each activity, and provide information for updating of monthly schedule.
    • Understand specifications, drawings, timely notice requirements, liquidated damages, shop drawings, and subcontract agreements.
    • Notify subcontractors in advance of the actual time they are needed on site and arrange for pre-install meetings.
    • Review General Conditions costs to date and projected remaining costs monthly.
    • Take responsibility for a safe environment for workers and the public.

    Qualifications:

    • Degree in Engineering, Business or Construction Management; Preferred
    • 1+ years of exposure to construction management practices.

    Compensation:

    • Base salary in the 65k - 85k/year range.
    • Company vehicle with gas card if necessary.
