    Large private equity firm is seeking an Assistant Controller/Associate Vice President (AVP) for their Private Equity Credit – Accounting Team.

     

    The AVP will be responsible for day-to-day accounting and oversight of the fund admin.

     

    The role reports up to the Controller with a dotted line to the CFO, the ideal candidate is a 7-10 fund accounting professional coming out of a private equity fund. The role will work directly with the finance team to help facilitate deals.

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Daily functions include managing the fund admin and doing a high-level review of the financial statements & footnotes, capital calls & distributions, partner allocations & waterfall schedules
    • Help in managing relationships and liaise with internal resources, offshoring resources, external fund administrator(s), and external auditors to meet all monthly, quarterly and annual reporting deadlines
    • Oversee and review monthly/quarterly/annual NAV reconciliations with fund administrator
    • Review of quarterly and annual GAAP financial statements and footnote disclosures for multiple funds as well as capital account summaries for limited partners
    • Assist with preparation of quarterly and annual reporting requirements to investors
    • Prepare/maintain cash flow projections and daily cash management, including any LP capital activity (ie: capital calls/subscription and distribution/withdrawal calculations)
    • Prepare and assist with ad-hoc limited partner, capital markets, investor relations and front-office requests
    • Work on ad-hoc requests from investors along with the investor relations team
    • Participate and contribute to regular review of overall processes and deliverables to improve effectiveness, efficiency and accuracy including the use of new technology

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
    • 7-10 years of relevant of experience including public accounting and/or fund accounting experience
    • CPA required
