We’re helping a trusted company in the building services and solutions industry find an Assistant Controller to support their operations and inventory-focused business units. Overview

The Assistant Controller will manage monthly close activities, inventory accounting, and financial reporting. You’ll partner with internal teams to provide insight and support, ensure compliance, and help maintain efficient and accurate financial processes. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, collaboration, and bringing structure to complex financial operations.

What You’ll Do

• Lead monthly close processes for operational business units
• Manage recurring journal entries and support inventory accounting
• Oversee annual inventory activities and reconciliations
• Analyze financial statements and support reporting needs
• Maintain and improve internal controls
• Support leadership with financial guidance and performance metrics
• Help build and maintain accounting procedures in line with industry standards
• Assist with audits and regulatory compliance
• Contribute to ad-hoc projects and process improvements

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration, CPA is a plus but not required
• 3+ years of accounting experience, ideally with exposure to inventory or retail accounting
• Familiarity with GAAP and financial software systems
• Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
• Strong Excel skills and analytical mindset
