    Position: Assistant Controller

    The Assistant Controller plays a key role in maintaining the financial health of the business, ensuring all operations comply with federal, state, and local regulations. This role provides consistent support to the Controller and assists with various financial and operational tasks.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Assist the Controller with month-end financial close processes.

    Prepare and process journal entries and account analysis.

    Compile and prepare the Month-End Financial Package.

    Review open WIP (Work in Progress) materials, labor overages, and discrepancies. Make corrections, adjust budgets, and implement corrective actions.

    Manage WIP Closed Job processes: select jobs for closure, review discrepancies, make necessary entries, and run final reports for job inactivation.

    Oversee and process monthly cycle counts for major equipment, random items, and copper; coordinate counting teams, audit, research discrepancies, and resolve issues.

    Manage van inventory cycle counts and implement corrective actions.

    Assist with semiannual physical inventories, including count audits and paperwork cutoffs.

    Coordinate with Payroll regarding employee leave requests and timecard questions. Review and approve payroll in the Controller’s absence.

    Approve AP (Accounts Payable) payments in the Controller’s absence.

    Generate daily sales reports for management; review overtime, training, and warranty labor costs, and resolve issues with supervisors.

    Assist in managing the operations of the accounting and administrative departments, providing direction and answering process-related questions.

    Support the Controller with annual budget forecasts, including account analysis.

    Assist with AP/AR (Accounts Receivable) projects as needed.

    Continuously look for opportunities to streamline processes and reduce overhead costs.

    Minimum Requirements:

    High school diploma or GED.

    Strong computer skills, including a minimum of 3 years of experience in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook, with exceptional spreadsheet management skills.

    Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    Must be proficient in English, both written and spoken.

    Strong project and resource management abilities.

    Flexibility to work overtime with little notice; occasional weekend hours may be required.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    4-year college degree in Accounting or Finance, with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.

    Physical Requirements:

    Ability to lift and move up to 10 pounds frequently.

    Must be able to stand, walk, or sit for long periods.

    Must have the ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds to operate phones or office equipment safely.

    Must possess natural or corrected vision to focus on close, distance, and peripheral objects with normal depth perception.

    Ability to communicate clearly using the spoken word to provide oral information.

    Proficient with keyboard and numeric keypad for data entry.

    Must be able to use arms and hands to perform tasks like reaching overhead, lifting, pushing, pulling, and manipulating objects or tools.
