Position Overview:
As an Assistant Controller, you'll be a key player in our finance team, directly supporting our Controller to optimize financial processes and reduce workload pressures. Reporting to the VP of Finance, you'll work alongside a team of 70 dedicated professionals in a dynamic, impactful role. The ideal candidate will bring an in-depth understanding of QuickBooks, financial controlling, and monthly reporting from day one, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company standards.
- Support the Controller in annual budget preparation, variance analysis, and financial planning efforts to optimize budget management and planning.
- Oversee general ledger activities, maintaining accuracy in journal entries and account reconciliations to ensure financial integrity.
- Assist in managing accounts payable and receivable, streamlining payment processes, and resolving discrepancies to optimize cash flow and collaboration with other departments.
- Identify and implement process improvements that enhance reporting efficiency and reduce redundancy.
- Participate in training sessions to onboard and develop new finance team members, fostering a culture of learning and growth within the team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred, not required)
- At least 3 years of experience in a comparable accounting or finance role, preferably within a service-focused industry.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and advanced skills in Excel with a strong grasp of general ledger functions.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to perform complex financial analysis effectively.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to build positive working relationships across teams.
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks independently while meeting deadlines.
