Primary Duties
Direct and manage corporate accounting functions to ensure compliance with US GAAP, JSOX, and internal policies
Participate in corporate consolidation activities and serve as point of contact for assigned divisions or subsidiaries
Participate in the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring timely and accurate period-end closing
Oversee the preparation and review of tax returns, in coordination with the Tax Program Manager, including Federal, State, and Foreign income taxes, and resolve related tax inquiries
Oversee general ledger activities, including reconciliations, journal entries, and financial analysis
Liaise with internal and external auditors, providing required documentation and resolving audit inquiries
Ensure adherence to strong internal controls and compliance with accounting policies and procedures, financial reporting, and tax regulations
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance accounting efficiency, accuracy, and compliance
Manage and develop accounting staff by providing guidance, training, and performance management
Work with cross-functional teams on financial reporting and compliance matters
Maintain and update accounting procedures, policies, and process control documentation
Effectively communicate with internal staff, management, external auditors, compliance authorities, professional advisors, and shareholder on accounting and tax matters
Working Relationships
The Assistant Controller will have 2-3 direct reports within the corporate accounting group. Reporting to the VP, Group Controller, the Assistant Controller interacts frequently with others within the organization and leadership group, as well as the finance group. Coordinate with third-party firms and consultants on outsourced matters as needed.
Work with tax professionals and stakeholders across the NAES group to provide guidance on tax matters. Assist in reporting to parent company accounting and tax departments on consolidation matters.
Job Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field from an accredited college or university recognized by the United States Department of Education or equivalent
Years of Experience:
Five years of experience working in multiple facets of accounting or finance
Three years of experience managing teams or employees within multiple work processes
Experience with large data, complex workbooks and ability to decipher trends quickly
Preferred Experience: Experience with J-SOX/US-SOX
Licenses/Certification: CPA (Preferred)
Software/Equipment Knowledge:
Accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
D365, One Stream, & Atlas

Strong technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP, IFRS, U.S. Federal and multi-state tax, and international tax concepts and compliance best practices
Able to work independently to organize and prioritize demands, handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously, set and meet deadlines and follow-through within a fast-paced environment with competing demands
Understanding of operational risk drivers to the financial statements
