Overview:
All About Kids in North Canton is looking for an enthusiastic, organized, and compassionate Assistant Director to help support daily operations and ensure our center continues to deliver exceptional care and early childhood education. This role requires a hands-on leader who can help manage staff, support families, and uphold the standards that make us one of the most trusted childcare centers in the area.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Support
Assist in supervising and supporting teachers and staff to ensure a positive, collaborative, and professional work environment
Help implement staff development, ongoing training, and performance evaluations
Act as a role model in classrooms as needed, ensuring curriculum is followed and best practices are upheld
Enrollment & Family Communication
Assist with center tours, parent inquiries, and enrollment paperwork
Serve as a point of contact for family questions, concerns, or feedback
Help manage Brightwheel communication and ensure timely responses to parent messages
Administrative Support
Help coordinate staff schedules, time-off requests, and daily ratios to meet licensing requirements
Support the completion of reports, logs, and records as required by ODJFS and internal standards
Help ensure compliance with licensing, safety, and health regulations
Curriculum & Program Oversight
Work with the Director to support teachers in implementing The Creative Curriculum and developmental assessments
Assist in planning educational activities, events, and seasonal programs
Health, Safety, & Cleanliness
Monitor safety protocols, incident reports, and cleaning checklists
Assist with emergency drills, health screenings, and safety documentation
Qualifications:
Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (Bachelor’s preferred)
Minimum of 2 years experience in a licensed childcare setting, with some supervisory or leadership experience preferred
Knowledge of Ohio childcare licensing regulations (ODJFS)
Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
CPR, First Aid, and Child Abuse Recognition & Prevention certifications (or willingness to obtain)
Ability to lead with warmth, positivity, and professionalism
