We are an educational center working with grade 4-12 students, part of a fast-growing chain of educational service providers. We are looking for an Assistant Director to be part of our team who will take on a variety of responsibilities that support the successful functioning of the center and help us continue to grow and provide outstanding service to our clients. The successful applicant will be a bright, detail-oriented fast-learner, capable of handling a variety of tasks in a fast-moving, dynamic office environment. They must have good communication skills for interacting with our internal and external customers and the ability to work well in a team environment. A commitment to contributing to the mission of providing quality educational services and a general knowledge of the educational system at the high school and middle school level would be a plus.
The position will initially be part time but may evolve into a full time position depending on the availability of the employee. There is some flexibility to work out the specific schedule of work hours, but availability for some weekday evening hours and possibly a weekend day is important. A successful Assistant Director who is interested in advancement will have opportunities for promotion to the Director role, which would entail expanded responsibilties and an increase in compensation.
RESPONSIBILITIES • Client interaction & scheduling Handle incoming calls and emails, learn about the educational services we provide to be able to interact in a helpful way with our existing and prospective customers, especially in scheduling tutoring sessions. • Perform general administrative support, including managing client data in Excel and within our customer management application. Learn the various business processes that support our office and contribute to them as needed. • Interact with clients about their students' educational programs and account options Get familiar with the teaching skills of our tutoring staff to be able to discuss tutoring options with clients; learn how to generate enrollment contracts for clients who are renewing their educational programs. • Work with the Center Director on special projects to support the growth of the center.
SKILLS / QUALITIES • Positive attitude: a willingness to learn new things and contribute to the ongoing enhancement of our processes and quality of service • Good communication skills both on the phone, in person and through email • Strong organizational skills: attention to detail and accuracy; ability to multitask; ability to remember important details of clients • Proficient software skills Adept at (or ability to quickly pick up) working with Excel, Word and Outlook; capacity to learn a client management software system
COMPENSATION
$28/hour base pay + commission (typically adds $2 - $3/hour) Optional retirement savings account match by employer
