Assistant Director/Lead Teacher of Child Care
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Director/lead Teacher of Child Care to join our team! As the Assistant Director/lead Teacher of Child Care, you will be assist the Director in selecting age-appropriate programs, activities, and curriculum for the children in our care. You will also assist with supporting the current staff, manage scheduling and bring positive communication to the team, and implement new strategies to grow and expand our outreach. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a deep understanding of child development and education, and experience managing staff. Pay depends solely on level of experience as an Assistant Director/Lead Teacher.
Responsibilities: Will assist the center Director:
Select accredited curriculum based on each classroom’s needs and programs
Ensure that we are in compliance with state regulations
Manage staff expectations and handle any issues, including scheduling and interpersonal conflicts that may arise
Review all lesson plans, printed materials, bulletin announcements
Plan extra-curricular activities, including in house entertainment and field trips or destinations
Prepare meals and snacks
Qualifications
The required licensing/certification to perform this role
Past experience working with children
Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in education is preferred
Demonstrated experience managing a team in a daycare setting
Deep understanding of childcare, child development, and education
Great work Ethic
Great time Management
Trustworthy
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Drivers License
