Summary
We are looking to hire a qualified Assistant Administrator to manage the day-to-day operations of Sprouts Learning Center. An assistant administrator provides support to the lead administrator. The successful applicant will have demonstrable experience in managing all aspects of a childcare center, possess strong leadership skills, display a friendly demeanor, have a love for children, and strive to create a supportive and encouraging environment for both children and teachers. Early childhood development experience is a plus.
Education and Training
● Completion of a one-year college certificate, one-year University or equivalent experience, and additional competencies in childhood development and early childhood education. Education or experience in business administration is a perk.

● Minimum 6 months of administrative experience
● Minimum 2 years of childcare experience.
● Proficient knowledge of local, state, and federal laws governing childcare
● Pass a background check, have a complete record of immunizations, and meet a minimum training requirement, which may include CPR, first aid, child abuse, and the ODJFS Administrator Training Rules and Review Course.

Environment and Compliance:
● Ensure that the center's facilities are safe for children and comply with state and federal laws and regulations
● Assist in the maintenance of center records (includes emergency drills; building, fire and sanitation inspections)
● Complete child enrollment information (including applications, immunization and allergy records)
● Provide tours of the center to prospective families
● Communicate and meet with parents regarding their children and center policies
● Monitor fee payments
● Complete ongoing training and courses to remain up to date on daycare standards and procedures
● Assist in the evaluation and purchasing of materials, equipment, and supplies
● Assist lead administrator during annual ODJFS licensing inspections
Staff and Supervision
● Assist in both the hiring and training of new staff members. Ensure that staff members maintain center policies and meet legal requirements
● Manage and support teaching staff and promote their professional development
● Inform staff of licensure requirements and policy changes through regular staff meetings
● Provide appropriate staff orientation training and manage appropriate staff development training
● Provide relief child care to maintain ratio e.g. during shift changes or to break caregivers ● Manage and coordinate the curriculum with the staff
Communication and Correspondence
● Assist the lead administrator with responses to inquiries made in-person, by phone, by mail or email, and make appropriate referrals both within and outside of Sprouts Learning Center
● Communicate with clients, staff, and the general public on a daily basis regarding program information, registration, billing, etc.
● File all correspondence for Sprouts Learning Center
● Update information in files as needed
● Update forms
● Maintain spreadsheets as needed for tracking Child Care Center related information
● Create agenda documents & take minutes at staff meetings and administration meetings ● Ensure information on the program’s website is updated and maintained in consultation with the lead administrator
