    Job description

    The Goddard School® located in Lyndhurst, NJ is looking for a motivated, self-starter for an Assistant Director position at our new school. A bachelor’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field and management experience in a licensed childcare center or preschool is preferred. The ideal candidate must have strong leadership skills, excellent communication skills and have a clear understanding of a developmentally appropriate learning program for young children. In addition, the candidate will possess the ability to motivate and inspire others.

    This position is responsible for building strong, positive, trustworthy, relationships with all stakeholders (children, faculty, parents, Goddard Systems, Owner) and assisting the School Director in supporting the education program (faculty performance and development, curriculum implementation) and is also responsible for, but not limited to:

    The Assistant Director role includes:

    Overseeing operations including human resources, quality assurance and facility operations

    Build strong, positive, trustworthy relationships with all stakeholders (children, faculty, parents, Goddard Systems, Owner).

    Interview, onboard, train, mentor, support faculty with classroom environment, learning, instruction, and behavior management.

    Support the daily operation of the school including managing staff, parents, children, health & safety, education, and all aspects of the school and business.

    Observe and support children and partner with families to ensure a productive learning and growing experience.

    Supporting faculty development by mentoring and coaching faculty to ensure a positive, inspiring, safe, intentional, fun learning environment.

    Complying with state childcare licensing regulations

    Supervise the implementation of the Wonder of Learning Curriculum, School specific curriculums and Goddard Q.A. Health and Safety Standards.

    Support the implementation of policies, systems, and curriculum to achieve Owner's objectives regarding all aspects of school and business operations.

    Supporting and stepping in classrooms when needed

    Projecting a positive and upbeat attitude while working in a fast-paced environment

    Demonstrating highly-effective organizational, time management and multitasking skills

    Having a genuine love for children and a strong commitment to education

    Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    BA or BS Degree in Early Childhood/Elementary Education or related field

    Prior managerial experience in an Early Childhood and/or preschool setting

    Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    Teambuilder

    Commitment to professional development and continuous improvement

    2 of years of management experience in a licensed childcare center or preschool required

    Job Type: Full-time 9am to 6pm

    Salary: $40,000.00 per year
