We're searching for an experienced assistant general manager to help our general manager plan and oversee the hotel's day-to-day operations. When the general manager is unavailable, you will be in charge of supervising personnel, dealing with client problems, and ensuring that our customers enjoy a 5-star experience. Responsibilities: • Recommend improvements that will improve the hotel profitability by analyzing department performance and identifying problem areas • Create the yearly hotel budget in collaboration with the general manager and department heads, and assess and adjust performance throughout the year to stay profitable • Facilitates management of the hotel's human resources functions, such as HR administration, turnover control, staff motivation, and employee development and retention • Ensure that all local, state, and federal rules and regulations, as well as any corporate or brand-established policies and practices, are followed • Support the general manager in the daily operation of the hotel to ensure that all guest service standards are met • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive friendly courteous and service-oriented manner. • Be in the public areas during peak times greeting guests and offering assistance as needed. • Participate in required M.O.D. coverage as scheduled. This position will be a second shift Tuesday through Saturday schedule. Ability to work weekends, nights, and Holidays. • Provide guidance and oversight of the Food & Beverage Operation which includes outlets and 5,000sq ft. of event space. • Direct and oversee the daily activities of the FOH & BOH Staff. • Maintain Food and Beverage cost controls to maximize profitability and ensure appropriate F&B quality and performance metrics are met. Qualifications: • This position requires a high school diploma or GED, and a bachelor's degree with preference given to those with a hospitality management degree • 3+ years of experience working in a hotel or the hospitality industry required • Possess excellent organizational skills, communication skills, and problem-solving skills • You must have previous experience in a manager role overseeing a team, preferably in a hospitality role • Proven customer service experience as a manager; strong guest-focused mentality • Strong Food and Beverage department experience preferred. Compensation: $65,000 - $75,000 yearly
