We are seeking a talented and hands-on Assistant Maitre D’ to support our front-of-house operations while actively contributing to the guest experience.
Position Overview: The Assistant Maitre D’ will work closely with the Executive Chef to ensure smooth operations, excellent service, and guest satisfaction. This is a hands-on role that requires leading by example, supporting the front-of-house team, and maintaining Amoura’s high standards. The position also offers the opportunity to earn tips, recognizing your active participation in service.
Key Responsibilities:
Guest Relations:
Greet and engage with guests to create a welcoming atmosphere.
Oversee reservations and assist with seating arrangements to optimize guest flow and satisfaction.
Address guest inquiries, concerns, and special requests promptly and professionally.
Service Support:
Work on the floor during service, assisting with table touchpoints, food running, and quality checks.
Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure timely and accurate service.
Maintain the dining room’s ambiance, cleanliness, and presentation.
Leadership & Team Support:
Assist the Maitre D’ in managing and mentoring front-of-house staff.
Conduct pre-shift briefings to communicate service goals and menu updates.
Provide on-the-spot coaching to team members to enhance performance and service quality.
Operations & Coordination:
Manage and update reservation systems (e.g., OpenTable or Resy) and maintain accurate guest records.
Support the Maitre D’ with administrative tasks, including scheduling and training.
Ensure compliance with health and safety standards throughout the dining room.
Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in a front-of-house leadership role in upscale or fine dining.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a passion for hospitality.
Hands-on approach to leadership, willing to step in and assist wherever needed.
Familiarity with reservation platforms and POS systems.
Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
Knowledge of Mediterranean cuisine is a plus.
