We are looking for Managers who are enthusiastic about craft cocktails and tiki culture, outgoing, have experience in casual fine dining and high-volume restaurants, and love having fun. Attention to detail and computer proficiency a must. Ability to manage staff members and table touch while interacting with guests is a big part of the job.
Our Managers are expected to know our diverse menus inside and out. The Honu has a fast-paced and high-volume atmosphere, so it is crucial that our Managers take pride in the management of staff to provide attentive and friendly service that ensures our guests feel valued and well taken care of.
Responsibilities
Arrives for a shift in uniform & maintains good hygiene. (collared shirt or blouse/ Hawaiian shirt, clean, neat comfortable shorts, skirt, dress or pants) Business casual appropriate.
Demonstrates “the customer is always right” attitude when addressing issues and when appropriate
Greet all guests in a friendly but professional manner with respect and a smile. We greet our guests with “Aloha”
Well versed in all menu items and daily specials, as well as all alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
Ability to describe, suggest and sell all menu items and specials.
Assist all co-workers whenever necessary.
Report and respond to any spills or potentially dangerous situations immediately.
Takes initiative and shares ideas to improve quality of service when the opportunity arises.
Complies with and monitors FOH staff adherence to strict alcohol serving rules, including requesting age verification of all guests appearing under 30.
Maintains and creates staff schedule for FOH appropriate for business
Updating and creating checklists and SOP’s necessary for the business.
Overall responsibility for ordering and maintaining par levels / inventory for FOH service items and retail. Work with Bar Manager and Chef to order items.
Assisting with responsibility for reviewing resumes, setting up interviews, interviewing, hiring and training all new FOH staff.
Maintaining onboarding paperwork for all employees
Keeping staffing levels as appropriate for business needs and meeting labor goals
Roll out, update, maintain quality and train staff on any new programs or products created or brought in
Daily credit card reconciliation
Assist in party and event planning
Responsible for opening and closing the restaurant safely and completely
Assist owners in daily operations as necessary.
Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to reach bend stoop, and up to lift 20 lbs.
Experience: 3 years management
Minimum 3 years staff management required
Good communication skills and ability to multitask are a must.
Licenses/Certifications: Sevsafe certified / Responsible Vendor
