Plantation Bay Golf and Country Club - Assistant Mechanic Plantation Bay Golf Club and Country Club is seeking an experienced Assistant Mechanic to join the team! Offering competitive compensation and benefits, as well as golfing perks!
Under supervision of the Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, assists in the repair and maintenance of motorized equipment utilized at Club courses. Performs a variety of mechanical repair and maintenance work independently, services motorized equipment and related work as assigned by Mechanic.
DUTIES OR FUNCTIONS
Ø Overhauls and repairs automotive, powered equipment, engines, brakes, transmissions, differentials, springs and muffler
Ø Secures and replaces tools and parts
Ø Cleans work areas after repairs are complete
Ø Assists in electric gas welding, lubricates and service automotive equipment
Ø Inspects equipment for operating deficiencies and makes routine adjustments, where necessary Fills automotive equipment with fuel and checks fluid levels, changes and repairs tires, maintains mileage report
Ø May be required to do body repair and painting work
Ø Repairs and adjusts the engines and cutting mechanisms of a wide variety of heavy and light mowing equipment
Ø Assists Equipment Operators with routine maintenance
Ø Performs other job-related functions, as requested by supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS
Ø Working knowledge of general operation of gasoline and diesel equipment
Ø Knowledge of proper methods of servicing automotive equipment
Ø Ability to repair and adjust power mowing equipment and use common mechanical tools
Ø Ability to understand and follow oral and written direction
Ø Aptitude for mechanical repair work methods
Ø Ability to maintain cooperative working relationships with co-workers and the public
Ø Clean, valid Driver's License
Ø Flexible to work varying schedules
Hours of operation: Monday - Thursday 6:30am - 3:00pm Friday 6:30 - 11:30am Sunday 6:00am - 9:00am
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Ø Minimum one-year mechanical experience on grounds/golf course equipment
EDUCATION
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Technical or Trade School in mechanical repair
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ø Lift up to 50 pounds
Ø Perform bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, reaching, standing, walking, pushing,
pulling, lifting, and grasping
Ø Verbal and listening abilities
Ø Effective visual skills
Ø Safe driving skills & ability
Ø Problem-solving rationalization Ø Will be performing tasks in and outdoors
Drugfree workplace Must pass background, drug test and have clean driving record.
