Assistant Operations Director - Real Estate Services Company - Base Salary to 65k/year - East Meadow, NY

- Our client is seeking an Assistant Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day management of a 250-unit residential community, requiring strong skills in leasing, customer service, vendor management, and team leadership to ensure high standards of service, occupancy, and compliance. The Assistant Operations Director will be responsible for managing all aspects of the community, from resident relations to financial oversight, and calls for candidates with solid property management experience, particularly in market-rate leasing, addressing resident issues, and handling court proceedings, lease renewals, and other resident challenges effectively.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure high occupancy rates through effective leasing strategies, manage move-ins and move-outs, and handle lease renewals in compliance with market-rate guidelines.
- Oversee vendor relationships and payments, process invoices, and conduct purchase order reviews. Assist with budgeting, rent collections, and monthly/quarterly financial reports.
- Provide exceptional customer service to maintain resident satisfaction. Respond to escalated resident issues, coordinate with facilities management to address maintenance needs, and support Facilities Management team on property needs.
- Maintain knowledge of and compliance with all legal documents, policies, and procedures. Conduct regular property inspections, pre-move-in and move-out checks, and ensure homes are ready for occupancy.
- Oversee assist in recruiting, onboarding, and training team members. Review team performance regularly and provide coaching to meet community and service goals.
- Manage daily office operations, ensuring timely completion of all property management tasks such as lease renewals, tenant screening, and court processes as needed.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 2+ years in property management, leasing operations, hospitality, or a similar customer service role. Familiarity with market-rate leasing preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Experience with property management software (Yardi experience preferred).
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs, and capability to use tools, phones, and computers as required.
