    Compensation: $95,000 - $105,000 per year

    About the Job

    The Vice Principal assists the Principal in the instructional and operational leadership. This role focuses on supporting student achievement, school culture, discipline, safety, and compliance efforts. The Vice Principal is a vital member of the leadership team and is expected to model the school’s core values of cultural competence, perseverance, and academic excellence.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    Academic Support & Instructional Coaching

    • Observe classrooms regularly, providing instructional coaching and feedback to staff.

    • Monitor implementation of the school’s bilingual instructional model and ELD strategies.

    • Support analysis of formative and summative student data to inform instruction and intervention.

    • Coordinate assessments (e.g., ELPAC, CAASPP, internal benchmarks).

    Student Discipline, Equity & School Culture

    • Lead implementation of positive behavior intervention supports (PBIS) and restorative practices.

    • Manage all disciplinary procedures in accordance with CA Ed Code, SJUSD policy, and the school’s Student/Family Handbook.

    • Ensure a physically and emotionally safe environment for all students, with attention to equity and trauma-informed practices.

    Compliance & Operational Support

    • Support compliance with SJUSD oversight, including documentation of attendance, safety drills, and school site operations.

    • Maintain student records in accordance with FERPA and SJUSD guidelines.

    • Assist with the oversight of special programs (504, EL, SpEd) and ensure legal and procedural compliance.

    Family & Community Engagement

    • Support family outreach, including leading school events, facilitating family meetings, and conflict resolution.

    • Ensure multilingual access to school information and promote inclusive family engagement strategies.

    Qualifications :

    • Master’s Degree in Education, Curriculum, or Administration (required)

    • Valid California Administrative Services Credential (or in progress)

    • 3–5 years of teaching experience

    • Administrative or instructional coaching experience strongly preferred

    • Knowledge of:

      • Student support systems (MTSS, PBIS, SEL)

      • State academic assessments and reporting systems

      • Charter oversight requirements and compliance frameworks
