Warren Wilson College invites applicants for a full-time, continuing faculty position in Animal Nutrition. This is an Assistant Professor position in our extended contract system beginning in August of 2025.
The ideal candidate will be a broadly trained animal scientist with specific expertise in animal nutrition and chemistry, who is strongly committed to teaching and student-engaged research in an undergraduate liberal arts environment. Strong candidates will have experience using fundamental chemistry concepts in a focus on animal nutrition, and in investigating livestock in sustainable or regenerative agriculture settings.
The successful candidate will join the Department of Biology and Chemistry. This department is an interdisciplinary and highly collaborative learning community. We graduate leaders who think creatively and critically, and who are enthusiastic about scientific practices. The department offers majors in Biochemistry, Biology, and Conservation Biology, and is developing a program in Animal Science. The successful candidate will also work in close collaboration with the Center for Working Lands team, particularly through the College Farm's livestock operation. Promotion is earned through demonstrated excellence in undergraduate teaching, a track record of relevant scholarly activity, and service to the college community.
