    Job Description

    The Assistant Project Manager will work on multiple fast-paced projects, working with senior staff, and providing field oversight on a variety of projects. They will assist their assigned supervisor with execution of assigned tasks, production of on time and high-quality individual work product, and positive coordination with other team members as assigned or requested in order to produce work product. The Assistant Project Manager is responsible for supporting the success of their assigned subpractice area and project as highest priority. They will perform assigned tasks in a manner that models the Company’s core values and inspires and encourages goal achievement through empowerment, learning, and creativity among the team.

    • Responsible for supporting assigned supervisor in meeting or exceeding the defined annual budget for the entire practice area (including proactive management of individual assigned tasks, monitoring of individual utilization performance vs assigned target, and collaboration with others to achieve desired business outcomes)
    • Effectively coordinate with other team members as requested or assigned, able to proactively monitor own progress on assigned tasks or projects, and ensure work product produced by self or in collaboration with other assigned team members is consistently high quality
    • Support assigned Supervisor in monitoring of all relevant data such as individual utilization performance vs target, client deadlines, accurate and timely timesheet data, etc.
    • Meet or exceed defined individual average utilization goals as set forth by company leadership
    • Coordinate and support other team members as assigned, with emphasis on positivity and in support of a culture that is empowered to execute
    • Support quality control of service delivery with all individual work product production, maintaining an excellent reputation of quality • Collaborate with other team members in a manner that assists with rapid identification and escalation to Supervisor of any client, team member or operational challenges
    • Effective management of select assignments within the region; meeting budget and delivery timeframes; ensuring client satisfaction
    • Ensuring that assignments are executed with technical proficiency, accuracy, and professionalism
    • Be aware of and work in a manner that supports the organization’s vision and defined business objectives
    • Conduct self and collaborate with others in working toward achievement of defined profit objectives of assigned projects
    • Cooperate in construction of strong cross-functional teams (cooperate with any suggested project assignments outside of original assigned practice area) to achieve success in shared goals, understanding that multiple perspectives and talents build stronger teams and results
    • Complete daily tasks consistent with contract requirements and proactively alert assigned Supervisor to any potential challenges or issues
    • Ensure compliance of operations with all local, state and Federal (and International, if applicable) regulations, as well as compliance with company policy
    • Ensure consistent high quality on deliverables for all individual work product
    • Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents
    • Monitor and assess construction performance and record construction activities to ensure compliance with construction documents
    • Analyze project documents relating to defect and warranty claims
    • Site investigations and assist in preparation of technical reports with photos and graphics and claim synopses
    • Assist with preparation of detailed reports auditing construction projects
    • Assist in project schedule creation, management and analysis
    • Inspect properties and buildings
    • Assist with quantity takeoffs and cost estimating for change order reviews
    • Assist with file setup and electronic filing
    • Travel as necessary to support client, employee, and leadership needs
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management preferred. Bachelor’s degree in Business Management is a plus

    Certification and Licensees:

    • EIT or CDT certification a plus
    • OSHA-10 or -30 certification preferred, but not required

    Experience:

    • 2 – 4 years experience. Internships or prior work experience a plus
    • Construction experience a plus
    • Candidates should be familiar with interpreting construction drawings, specifications, contracts, estimating and take-offs, and as-built drawings
    • Work in a consultant setting. Track your time and monitor activities against a budget

    Knowledge & Skills:

    • Must be able to perform complex tasks and handle multiple priorities, and have the ability to perform exceptionally under high stress conditions
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills
    • Efficient, well-organized and positive attitude when approached with challenges and realities of construction management and consulting
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Demonstrated self-awareness and flexibility in working with a variety of personalities and work styles (colleagues, clients, assigned supervisors)
    • Requires excellent technology, computer, and document management proficiencies
    • Proficiency or working knowledge of Online Project Management Software a plus
    • Proficiency or working knowledge of Microsoft Project or similar a plus
    • Proficiency or working knowledge of CAD a plus
    • Estimating skills are a plus
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel & Word
