    Assistant Safety Director


    Our client is a leading company in Industrial Construction. They are seeking an experienced Assistant Safety Director. This growth role is crucial in maintaining and improving their occupational safety and health performance across multiple projects.

    Responsibilities

    • Assist in the development and implementation of comprehensive safety policies and procedures for all construction projects
    • Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments to identify areas for improvement
    • Coordinate with the Corporate Safety Director to align site-specific safety plans with company-wide initiatives
    • Oversee the investigation of accidents and incidents, ensuring accurate reporting and implementation of preventative measures
    • Ensure compliance with OSHA 1926 and other applicable federal, state, and local safety regulations
    • Collaborate with the Corporate Training Manager to develop and lead safety training programs for Site Safety Supervisors and other employees
    • Travel extensively to visit client sites, providing updates on safety requirements
    • Conduct regular site visits to maintain a consistent safety culture

    Qualifications

    • Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction safety, with at least 6 years in a leadership role
    • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Occupational Health and Safety Technologist (OHST) certification required
    • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and other safety standards applicable to heavy civil construction
    • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
    • Proficiency in safety management systems and data analysis
    • Valid state driver's license and ability to travel frequently to multiple project sites
    • Strong presentation and communication skills
    • Proficient in the Microsoft Office 365
    • Experience and comfortable with client interface, communication and presentation.
    • Experience and proven capabilities related to accident investigation, root cause analysis, etc.
    • Experienced and proven track record regarding assessing site safety programs and developing effective and measurable plans of redress where applicable.

    Required Certifications

    • OSHA 510 Certification
    • OSHA 500/502 Certification preferred
    • Competency Trainer certification for Fall Protection, Excavation, and Trenching
    • First Aid/CPR certification

    The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in safety leadership, strong analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple high-priority projects simultaneously. They must be able to work effectively with various departments and stakeholders to foster a culture of safety across the organization.
