Must have proven experience in sales (fitness/wellness industry preferred) and understand how to maximize every opportunity to drive sales revenue and grow membership billings. The ideal candidate will have a passion for health and wellness and an understanding of the boutique wellness environment within their community.
Founded in 2015 in Venice, California, StretchLab empowers clients to ‘LIVE LONG!’ through a consistent, one-on-one assisted stretching program. StretchLab has gathered a team of experts certified/licensed in various one-on-one services – personal training, physical therapy, massage therapy, and more – to deliver the finest team of stretching professionals gathered anywhere. StretchLab’s proprietary Flexologist™ training ensures clients receive a world-class one-on-one assisted stretching session.
POSITION:
The purpose of the Assistant Sales Manager is to assist the Area Manager with driving sales revenue and achieving monthly studio sales goals, as well as providing exceptional customer service to every client who walks through our doors.
Under the supervision of the Area Manager, the Assistant Sales Manager must focus on new membership sales by bringing new members to the studio, building a relationship, providing a positive experience, and successfully moving them through the sales process to a membership sale. The Assistant Sales Manager also assists with retaining current members by providing unmatched customer service. S/he must have the ability to build lasting relationships with prospective and current members to build a strong ambassadorship and member retention. S/he is rooted in hospitality and upholds our mission of fueling an energetic communal experience.
This position is a full-time salaried position that requires availability to work rotating Saturday, evening, and/or morning shifts. Studio hours are 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. weekdays, 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Saturdays, closed on Sundays.
REQUIREMENTS:
To perform this job successfully, candidates should meet the following minimum requirements and qualifications:
1+ years of proven success in fitness or relevant consumer sales; preference is given to fitness membership sales experience.
Goal-oriented with the ability to manage and drive all revenue streams from membership sales to retail.
Must be solution-based and results-oriented, with a competitive spirit.
Confident in generating personal sales on the phone (first-visit bookings) or via direct customer contact after their first stretch (memberships).
Self-motivated and takes initiative.
Warm, welcoming, and engaging personality with the ability to build strong customer relationships.
Excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills in person, on the telephone, and via email.
Solid writing and grammar skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
A passion for wellness and a desire to assist others in their wellness goals.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, ability to prioritize, and meet deadlines.
Professional, punctual, reliable, and neat.
Trustworthy and able to protect confidential information.
Proficient with computers, Microsoft Office, Google Sheets, and studio management software.
Ability to work independently and collaborate with the Area Manager, Marketing Manager, Lead Flexologist, and Studio Owner.
Ability to recognize areas of improvement and make changes using good judgment.
Ability to work harmoniously with co-workers, clients, business partners, and the general public.
Flexibility to work morning, evening, and Saturday hours as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Sales:
Drive personal and team sales revenue to meet or exceed daily, weekly, and monthly goals for membership sales.
Manage (and personally execute) the lead flow and sales processes to ensure all leads are contacted and qualified per established sales process: lead follow-up via phone call to first-visit booking to membership enrollment, and maintaining a daily log of outreach performed and follow-up required.
Showcase extensive knowledge about our brand, offerings, and pricing to actively promote and sell memberships.
Build rapport with every prospect to discover and understand their goals and needs, and present available services to help them achieve success.
Track bundle/package purchases to convert to memberships when appropriate.
Participate in special events (popups, workshops, expos, etc.) to promote the studio.
Assume responsibility for developing sales associates' skills including training them on the sales processes, conducting sales role-play practice sessions, and auditing the team’s activity, productivity, and performance.
Customer Service & Member Retention:
Work front desk shifts where you will greet members and guests with the highest level of customer service, and assist clients with bookings, explain membership policies, or address other questions/concerns.
Handle studio billing matters: execute member upgrades/downgrades, freezes, and terminations; resolve customer service billing/membership issues as they arise.
Ensure all member tasks are completed daily, including lost sheep calls, agreement audits, past dues management, and other member retention tasks.
Retain members by providing exceptional customer service in person, on the phone, and via text and email.
Foster a positive studio atmosphere, embrace hospitality, and drive StretchLab’s brand values.
Become an expert with ClubReady software including booking clients, prospect and member task management, client account management, retail management, and reporting.
Build rapport and lasting relationships with prospective and current members to drive referral business through ambassadorship.
Follow up on complaints, questions, and concerns; respond to customer needs in a friendly, timely, and efficient manner.
Operations/Administrative/Miscellaneous:
Maintain the cleanliness of the studio including, but not limited to sweeping/mopping floors, sanitizing/organizing equipment, cleaning bathrooms and common areas, managing laundry, etc.
Manage studio maintenance issues.
Maintain supplies of promotional literature, office supplies, cleaning supplies, etc.
Emphasize and enforce the objectives of the studio as a wellness provider.
Enforce StretchLab corporate policies, business practices, systems, and procedures.
Participate in studio, regional, and corporate meetings/webinars and trainings as required.
Perform other duties as assigned.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
This position offers competitive wages based on experience & performance.
Generous commissions are paid on sales.
