Summary / Objective and Role Portfolio:
The Assistant Director of Services is responsible for aligning and implementing organizational service delivery objectives within the school in accordance with Primrose Schools policies and procedures and state licensing
Standards and also in accordance with the Roots to Wings Management Strategic Plan. Within the framework of a school leadership partnership, this position focuses on the providing excellent services to students of the school and their families in such a way as to fulfill Primrose goals of providing a safe, educational, and nurturing environment for children, parents, and staff. You will need to execute strategies to provide service excellence to parents and maintain regulatory compliance of the school at all times. In support of your Director, your focus is on curriculum implementation, classroom excellence, family relationships, parent communications and in-school events. You will also need to support your team by actively promoting the school in the community to build awareness and enrollment.
Qualifications:
Must meet requirements of local child-care regulatory agency and Primrose Schools.
A degree in Early Childhood Education, Primary Education, or related field, and/or at least two years' work experience in a licensed child-care facility, kindergarten or early childhood program preferred.
Experience in management, business, and/or public relations preferred.
Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations.

Assumes responsibility to manage operation of the school in the Directors absence.
Assists the Director with the necessary management responsibilities to ensure maximum enrollment and effective cost control to produce profit.

Provides verbal recognition and acceptance to children while providing clear and consistent expectations for the children's behavior
Ability to perform all of the essential functions for each position in the school, including, but not limited to, other leadership team positions, teacher, food service teacher, and bus driver.
Attends all required staff meetings, workshops and/or school functions.
Maintain overall professional personal appearance adhering to the guidelines offered in the Primrose Schools Employee Handbook.
Assist in other capacities that Director, or designee, determines is necessary.
Responsibilities:
In terms of the Roots to Wings Strategic Plan Pillars, your main area of focused responsibility will be to:
Ensure Regulatory Compliance and Curriculum Supplies
Ensure licensing standards are maintained.
Maintain all regulatory compliance in all areas of the school.
Develop building relationships with enrolled families - ensure family satisfaction.
Focus on Curriculum, Classroom and Parent Communications and Relationships
Build relationships always with fellow leadership team members teachers, students, families, the community.
Support your Director, the Executive Director of Service, your leadership team and the COO where possible and required to ensure the smooth running of the business and provision of service.
Actively lead teachers in implementing the curriculum.
Actively lead towards classroom management and excellence.
Parent Communications are a critical strategy in your provision of service excellence. Ensure clear pathways to understanding by parents.
Manage all school events with support from Roots to Wings Management.
Actively manage the school environment – liaise with the Maintenance Coordinator.
Lead your Teachers to Success and Be a Cheerleader for them
Serve your teachers, suite leads and coaches through your leadership in classroom and curriculum implementation.
Be a cheerleader for your teachers to other teachers' leadership team members, and Roots to Wings Management.
Implement Teacher Development Policy and Programs and actively seek development opportunities for teachers and represent these to Roots to Wings Management.
Lead our teacher retention program in your school.
Participate actively in staff recruiting and onboarding programs.
Manage Whole-School Development Programs and Build Community Future-Thinking
Manage and promote programs that will benefit the entire school – such as Leader-in-Me, building Well-Being in your school;
Relate to your enrolled family community at the school using whatever strategies and tools are available to you, such as social media, calendars, events.
Reach out to the broader community surrounding the school by supporting the Roots to Wings Management Corporate Social Responsibilities Policy and Activities.
Facilitate and support in-school Training by implementing Roots to Wings Management needs and policies for the event. Represent teacher training needs and desires to Roots to Wings Management.
