Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing instruction aligned with students' IEPs in collaboration with a supervising teacher, using effective strategies to support academic and behavioral success.

• Prepare for and participate in parent conferences and interdisciplinary team meetings.

• Assume responsibilities during after-school emergencies, including student supervision, phone communication, and written documentation.

• Support curricular and extracurricular activities, special events, and projects that enhance student life and promote a positive school experience.

• Complete instructional-related duties as assigned by supervising teachers and administrators.

• Provide independent instruction, supervision, and classroom management during the absence of the supervising teacher.

• Implement behavioral protocols and assignments for students during instructional and non-instructional times.

• Use instructional and non-instructional time professionally, adhering to administrative guidelines.

• Participate in in-service training and staff meetings in a professional and collegial manner.

• Assist with the integration of technology into instructional design and delivery as directed by the supervising teacher.

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma

Experience: Prior experience working with children with developmental disabilities is highly preferred.
