JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for the daily supervision and management of a primary care group of 5 to 10 children
Plans, implements and supervises the daily program for the class in accordance with the philosophy of LeafSpring School.
Incorporates principles of age appropriate growth and development and developmentally appropriate practice in daily lesson plans.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR ASSISTANT TEACHER:
Must be 18 years of age
Must possess a love for children and an ability to relate well with them, their families, and teachers.
AND...
Associate degree in early childhood education, child development, education, or other related field and a minimum of 1 year of experience teaching young children in a group setting
OR CDA certificate in early childhood education, child development, education, or other related field with a minimum of 4 years of experience teaching young children in a group setting
OR High school diploma and 2 years or programmatic experience
Montessori, Reggio-Emillio, teaching practicums, and educator-based internships will be considered as valuable experience. As well as the fundamental experience of summer counseling, nannying, daycare and babysitting.
